To Fool (or not to fool) A Mosquito

In my last post I mentioned the Mother’s Day gift we gave to Rick’s Mom: a pretend citronella plant. I say ‘pretend’ because Rick found an article (and it just may have been this one) that points out that what we bought for her, as well as for us and our yard, may not be a citronella plant after all.

Or it is? Who do you believe?

(Always the quandary when there are two opposing sides to review)

We have not planted our ‘citronella’ plants as of yet. The weather has been doing a funky dance as well as time allotted to us 24-hour laden humans has left them in the garage hangin’ out with the Oregon grapes, peppermint plants and others.

Will we plant those ‘citronellas’ anyway?

After reading that article, I’m not sure what to do. A discussion to have with the husband when that bridge comes into view.

The plants really aren’t that pretty.

Yet the scent isn’t so bad. Which is what I wanted to have; pretty scented plants near the entry ways.

Darn Mosquitos!
