Easter in Farmington

Church at 8:30 am. Murderous. Absolutely murderous. We have to be there, though, because we teach the CTR 6 class (one of them, anyway) which also happens to be Cali’s class of (whenever everybody comes) 9 chirpy children. And when I say ‘there’ it includes our many tardy entrances. In other words, I could probably passively hold up a couple fingers and that would be the total of ‘on time’ debuts. But we try. And I also would like to add that when I say ‘have to be there’, I am not all dissin’ our calling as teachers. I actually like being there right now instead of with the adults for the first 2 hours of church. So, it is a blessing. And where else can you get the basics down pat of the Gospel other than in Primary? In Martha’s words: “It’s a good thing.”

Easter Sunday was another late arrival, unfortunately. However, girls of the class were so pretty in their new Easter Best. I scored big time at Gymboree for my girls on their Easter dresses. Even shopping on the Saturday before! Each dress (with an appreciated 20% coupon from my Parenting mag) was $9.59! Sweet! And I bought a few hair decorations while we were there.

We tried to get pictures after Church at home in their pretty Easter dresses. Here is the best we could do!

So, much for the classic, glamorous Easter photo. At least one was being cooperative! Thanks, Cal :)

It’s a good thing Easter isn’t all about dresses, eggs and the like (which we still do for the girls, but like to do on Saturday). We are grateful to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. And hopefully, even with our tardiness, the children in our Primary class were able to understand the true meaning of this wonderful holiday.
