She Can’t Drive ‘Cause She’s Five
Today Daddy took Cali on a “field trip” to the Utah Auto Expo. This has become an annual thing for us and this was year three. We all tried to go last year, but Carice was still a little too young and we only stayed about 45 minutes and didn’t get to really look at any of the cars very well. We may try again next year…
Let’s start with a car that Shelley and I both would love to put in our driveway. The Flex is a new car from Ford that really looks like what the second generation Scion xB should have. It is a big family car and a great alternative for those who don’t ever want to be seen in a minivan or don’t like a big honkin’ SUV. With three rows of seating and lots of amenities, this car really speaks to us. The $40K price tag, however, leaves much to be desired. We will wait until they are a few years old and pick up a used one for a lot less. :)
One of Cali’s favorite cars over the last few years has been the Mini Cooper. Since they didn’t have a Mini there this year (very odd…), she found one of her other longtime faves instead. Hello, VW New Beetle!
Cali was really looking forward to the show this year for this reason: Smart ForTwo. She asked me twice on the way this morning, “Daddy, will there be a Smart Car there? I can’t wait to sit in it!” She can’t wait until Grampa Steve get his, I’m sure. This car is so small that she almost looked like she’d be able to drive it away today at age five!
Cali loved the headroom on the Jeep Wranglers.
Don’t let the pigtails fool you, Danica Patrick.
We had a great time! Thanks for being my little car nut, Cali.
I am in love with that Ford Flex too, I’ve had my eye on that…if only we were filthy rich, I’d buy one for me and you!
